Ten Interview Questions for the Next Big Thing:

What is your working title of your book?
Damaged Souls

Where did the idea come from for the book?
A traffic accident. Someone I know was hit from behind and offered money instead of waiting for the police to arrive (in Brooklyn a person can literally wait 6 or 7 hours for a minor fender bender.)

What genre does your book fall under?
Horror

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I pictured Jeffrey Dean Morgan as far as the look of the character. But I’d be happy with any actor playing the role.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A man is given a second chance at life, only now the stakes have been raised. He is in a race against time, against an evil so great that Hell itself will be released on Earth if he doesn’t stop it.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
It will be published by Samhain Publishing.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About 2 months.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Well, I’d like to think I put an original spin on it, but I’d have to say anything dealing with demons, Hell, Purgatory, though not the traditional Catholic or Western kind. I try to incorporate all religions when dealing with the supernatural.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The “accident story” and wanting to go from there, with of course a horror slant to it. I haven’t written anything with demons and liked the idea of working them into the story. They’re so wicked.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
It deals with a heavy loss, then consequences, and my view of Purgatory. I like books about people getting second chances, then seeing how they might blow them, then see if they can redeem themselves. Of course in my book the world is at stake, so it’s a little intense.
